Grand Excitement!!

Well it finally happened....... I got a new phone. I have had my other phone for 3+ years and I really liked it and it worked just fine but it was time for an upgrade. I got a touchscreen its called a LG Dare. I really like it. Now the rest of the fam. doesn't have phone envy either since they got upgraded too with a Lg decoy and 2 touchscreen glydes.

New Different Tv

As you may know we recently go a new HD SOYO (ever heard of it? ) tv. We hooked it up and it looked great except for the red dot just low of center. So we called the company to see what we needed to do since we bought their extra warranty (sometimes it does pay) Nothing they could do but replace the tv. We took in the tv a week later expecting to just get a replacement but they told us that we could do that or they gave us store credit and we could go pick out another tv. Gary and I looked at each other, ran over to tv land and picked out a new SONY tv. We feel that we made the better deal :)

I musta missed it :(

The last 3 days there were 40+ K-9 units being certified at a HS stadium. The first 2 days were on agility and obedience and then today was on criminal apprehension. I figured I would go today and check it out but it rained this morn. I figured they would do it anyway--criminals don't wait for the rain to stop right???--well when I got there this afternoon the stadium was empty. I was disappointed. I think that would have been great to see.

On a sadder note..

We found out last night that 2 kids from our High School drowned at the lake out here. They were swimming with a group and 1 got stuck and the other went out to try free him but they were both lost. One was a senior and the other a junior in high school where Amber goes.
This place to swim is not the swimming area---a lot of kids apparently go there Amber has been there herself with friends. So you can only think Thank goodness she wasn't out there last night. Prayers out to those families

Busy, Busy, Busy.....

Now that the roof is done we are working on some landscaping. We have taken out the lilac bushes on the east side of the house now we are working on the bushes in the pictures. I don't know what they are called but we have them all over-down the prop. line, by the b-ball hoop and here just off the deck.
We did finally get the right carpet in the LR and got the HD tv hooked up but it has a prob with it so now we are working on getting a replacement for that. So soon these two rooms will be done also.

What are they???

These bee like things have taken over a portion of our back yard. They are larger than bees and wasps--I was trying to find a dead one to put a quarter next to but I think Misha eats them before I can get to them :( They are about 1 inch long. The other day Gary saw one carrying (flying) a locust into the nest. They live under the ground--we have holes dug into the ground from these creatures. I 'm not just talking 1 hole here its on both sides of the shed and there are about 4 in the yard. We plug them when we find them but they just dig them out again. Soooooo what are they??? Gary thinks they are hornets. How do we get rid of them?? We have used spray but they just come back after a couple days.

Chickens at the fair

This is a chicken and rooster--now the funniest thing about these two are their hair doos. You probably can see them very well because of the wire but the males hair was sticking out every which way and the females looked like a wig. Gary made the comment that the hairdoo looked like mine in the morn---well next thing you know the female went over and started pecking the male right in the head! We laughed so hard. How perfect right?

State Fair

Yesterday we went to the State Fair and did the best thing ever!! They had a butterfly tent with 5000 butterflies! You could go in there (Staying there as long as you wanted) and the different species of butterflies land on you. It was great!! At one time I had 9 butterflies on my lower half---everyone was calling me the butterfly lady :) I think they should bring that back every year.
