I don't know how long its been since I last posted about the flowers but look at them now!

All abloomin! Even after beein snowed upon last weekend.

Prom again

Prom musta been wonderful. although non of the large and wonderful prizes were won by my daughter. I think she did get a tatoo and ride a bull, runn through a maze, play las vegas type games and was hypnotyzed soo that sounds like a good time right?

Prom

Prom is arriving this weekend and things sure are different then when I did prom.
Girls:
The dresses are still as fancy and they still tan, get there hair done. Now they also get their nail and toes done.
Boys:
Some wear a tux others wear a suit some only wear whatever they have on at the time.

Limos:
Yes they still use limos but they also use Hummers and now the Party Busses. The latter is what my daughter will be on this year. I am of old school and think Yuck! a party bus thats not for prom but again that just dates me :)

Dates, Pictures, Dinner:

In the past you only went to prom IF you had a date, now you go to prom if you have a date or not. They take pictures throughout the night soo you might not get the old formal pics and if you do there probably won't be just 2 people in the picture, usually a group. Dinner is sometimes at a restaurant other times is a potluck at a parents house.

Then after the dance they now have this thing called AfterProm--its an event that once you go in you can't leave and if you do you can't go in again. Its from 12am to 6am. Then the kids go over to a friends house and sleep it off. About 11am the parents make breakfast for the sleeping kids and then send them home.
Prom over for another year.

Harlem Globetrotters

Last night we saw the Harlem Globetrotters.

It was awesome! Very good entertainment. Last time I saw them

was in the 70s. Of course now they have different players..Curly

and Meadowlark weren't there. They have new players Big Easy,

Skyscraper and Airport just to name a few. The show was basically

the same as I remember but updated. It was very funny and even

thought Amber didn't know who they were and what she was

going to other than a basketball game...... the kids really enjoyed

it...all 4 of us :)

Before and After

Well we got the van back and here are some before and after shots...What happened??? Amber hit a mailbox when the roads were slick so we decided to get the van and mailbox fixed.

Steven had a birthday last weekend and and and you guess how old he is??

We decided to do a childish thing and get cupcakes for him to take back to college and share with his friends. Turns out up his friends made him cupcakes and a cake also--so he had plenty!

The spring peeking through!

These are the tulips that we planted last year and were waiting to see if they would come up this year. Now we only have to wait for blooms. But just seeing this puts you in a happy mood

Heat Hog!

Now this might be hard to see but the cat is sitting on the heating vent. He usually sits here when the heat is running then leaves his post when it shuts off. I thought this was kinda weird but a few other people told me their cats do the same thing.

He doesn't do this in the summer when the AC in coming out only in the winter with heat.

A taste of Spring

We have had 2 beautiful days here. The sun has been shining and its been in the 50s! We have seen all kinds of birds out and about. Its just lovely. Really gets you in the mood for spring--in fact I have been walking around the house today looking for bright green sprouters either from the ground or buds of trees--I know its too early but its the frame of mind I'm in.

On a down note tomorrow and Friday its supposed to be rainy and sleety (word?) and in the 30s--I guess back to reality huh?

New--new

Here you can check out my new--new glasses :)

As you can see these have an open spot on the side so I can see out them. That was the main reason for getting them

I hated turning the others in but I just felt I couldn't drive safely with them. I secretly loved the bling :)

I tell you I check out people glasses all the time now and I wonder how some people drive or can see out the side. I have seen some that are 1 inch thick!

Friends

These two usually fight over who gets to lay in the bed....but not today they decided to be friends and lay next to each other. Just like two peas in a pod!

Well here they are.. I picked these up and I really...I mean really like these but I can't keep them. I have tried for a couple weeks. The bow is too wide which I didn't notice til I left the store and started driving. I have no prepherial vision. That is too dangerous for when I drive.. it might be okay for slow driving but if I have to make a quick decision...accident here I come. Soooo these are on the way out and I am waiting for my new new ones to come in so this is just a teaser :)

I got them for my b-day from my brother and sister-in-law. Greyhounds r my favorite so I love them!!

I also got this beautiful snowflake from myself :~) I went after christmas shopping and got this from Younkers. I totally love them both!!!

Cold N Snow

Happy New Year!!

Its been snowing here. The dogs don't like to stay out very long and walk in the snow since its too cold on their feet..soooo we make a path for them : ) I know don't say it..pampered pups right? Well it helps us too so we don't have to make mutiple trips per dog. Now with the frigid temps we are having.. they usually come back holding up 1 foot.

Misha....Now shes another story altogether...she stays out at the shed too long and limps, crawls and hops to get back to the house usually alternating 3 feet in the air. We try not to feel sorry for her and go pick her up.
